The primary purpose of advisory committees is to promote partnerships between vocational-technical education, business, labor and the communities they serve. Advisory committees help students with the skills and abilities they need to enter and succeed in their chosen occupation. Committees also provide valuable information needed to respond to local labor market needs.
Advisory committees represent the diversity of business and labor in a community. Members volunteer their time, talent, and knowledge to help strengthen and improve vocational-technical education programs.
