Minutes of Board Workshop

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

High School Library

Present: Mark Mansell, Melissa Miller, Bob Taylor, Cris Yaw, Wendy Chord, John Parsons and Laurie Kansanback

Guests: Josh Soske and numerous middle school students

The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Miller at 7:00 pm.

1. Annual Agenda: The board spent time discussing possible changes, revisions, additions and deletions to their annual agenda. The annual agenda is a Governance Process policy GP-8-E and will come before the board for first reading at the January 27 regular board meeting.

2. Governor Proposed Cuts to Funding: If the Governor’s proposed cuts go through it will cost us approximately $300,000. More on this as things develop.

3. Upcoming Student Linkage Meeting: This is scheduled for February 10^th from 8:30 – 2:00 pm. We will start at the high school and end on the K-8.

4. 2009 WASA/WSSDA Legislative Conference: This will be held February 8^th and 9^th. No one is able to attend.

As this was a workshop meeting of the board, no action was taken.
