Family Math and Science
The elementary staff offers several FUN family evenings of Math and/or Science activities. This is an opportunity for parents to work with their children on a fun, yet educational activity. Learn how to help your child with math and science at home. We also provide materials, games, activities, to take home. Prizes are awarded at the end of each event. Look for a flyer coming home and/or announcement of it in our weekly bulletin. Come join the fun and meet our La Center families and staff members.

Young Authors Writer's Workshop
Students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in a truly interesting workshop for young writers. All students create their own manuscript and have it published in a hardbound book. You will be guided through the creation and illustration process necessary to become an author. This activity is held after school and is available for sign-up through our Community Ed. program.

Junior Great Books
Junior Great Books (grades 1-5) stresses the enjoyment of literature, while at the same time develops comprehension, interpretive thinking, and oral and written language skills. The program's structure offers children ongoing opportunities to develop their ideas about a challenging piece of literature and to share those ideas with others. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet with other children from his/her grade level and to be challenged as a reader.

Other options available to grade 5 students.
