GOALS
LESSON GOALS:
- Help students review their ACADEMIC goals and make sure parent
signatures are present.
- Discuss SLC and how academic goals relate.
- Familiarize and discuss the current SLC Rubric
ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
- What do I want to achieve academically this year?
- How will my SLC be evaluated?
MATERIALS NEEDED:
- Academic
Goal Worksheet
- Current
SLC Rubric
CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES:
- Discuss
students’Academic Goals. Have
they taken any steps to achieve their goals? What might help them achieve
their goals? Have teachers check
off their academic sheet and make sure a parent signature has been
collected. (5-10 minutes)
- Discuss
Student Lead Conference and Portfolios. Discuss how the academic
goals should be related to their
portfolios and shared in the SLC.
- Grading
Criteria. Handout the SLC rubric
sheet and discuss the expectations
and grading criteria for this year.
Have students determine what the difference is between passing and
failing.
STUDENT PRODUCTS:
- Updated
Portfolio. Add the
final academic goal sheet to the portfolio.
