High School Freshmen Orientation

Dear Parents and Students of the Class of 2012

The orientation meeting for incoming freshmen is scheduled for June 3^rd, 2008 at 6:00 pm. We will start with a BBQ for our new 9^th graders and their parents in the La Center High School Commons. The entire high school will be open if you would like to tour the facility. Information regarding registration, scheduling, course descriptions, clubs, extra-curricular activities and the "high school experience" will be available. Students and parents will also have the opportunity to complete registration information and finalize changes of elective class options if they have not already done so.

High School Guidance Counselors, Paula Tell and Lori Jeske will be available to answer questions. Also available to provide information will be selected faculty members and student representatives of the Associated Student Body.

We are also in the process of planning other orientation activities for this spring. These will include but not be limited to daytime visits to the high school campus to meet with staff and student leaders. We hope to provide experiences and information that will help make the transition from middle school to high school as smooth as possible.

If you have any questions or are unable to attend this meeting, please contact the high school office. We will be able to make other arrangements to take care of your orientation needs.
